Okay, fairly big update. You'll notice a new "Status" box in the top left corner of the site. This will serve to show the current status of the shoes as they make their epic journey.

The accuracy of the status is in part the responsibility of the individual challengers, and management (Russ and I).

More after the break...

As you've probably noticed, we've changed the look and feel of the site. Feel free to email us or sound off in the comments or forum about the change.

I've also done some significant overhauling to the framework for getting, and caching Google Maps markers. There are still about a dozen people who's addresses cannot be found by the Geocoder.

First, I've managed to forget to introduce myself. I'm Ryan, and I'm the webmaster here for the Chase Jarvis Shoe Project. You'll likely only see posts from me here on the main page when something significant about the day-to-day operations of the site has changed.

That said, I've been working several hours this weekend on some framework stuff for the site. Most of it is behind the scenes, but it'll become obvious soon enough.

Hello all. Some of you may have noticed the glut of errors when you visit the Challenger Map. I've updated that page so you no longer get that error message, though some addresses are still not being found by the google maps API. I'll be addressing that in the not too distant future, as well as adding functionality as time goes by.

Watch this space for updates about the site, and the progress of the shoes. And, welcome!
